For VR devices, Microsoft is discontinuing HoloLens 2 while the latest Windows 11 update makes Windows Mixed Reality headsets obsolete. Vive Ultimate Trackers now supports PC VR headsets, and PS VR2 joined the top 10 VR headsets on Steam. PowerA announced new Quest 3 and Quest 3S devices, a renewed deal on Meta’s Quest 3 drops to $380, Immersed released a new video, and Samsung is reportedly working on competing Ray-Ban Meta Glasses.
For a VR game, Hitman 3 VR: Reloaded studio XR Games faced eviction less than a day after announcing Starship Troopers: Continuum. Beat Saber is getting Britney Spears DLC, Wrath of Asgard 2 has joined the Quest+ Games Catalog, and a new MR pet game is coming from creator Bogo. We also reviewed Exploding Kittens VR and shared our thoughts on Snapstick.
We spoke to Creature about the studio’s approach to designing the MR game in Starship Home, and creator Gorilla Tag told us that he believes the success of VR is “inevitable.” Other VR game titles followed for Hello, Dot, You can’t Scare Me, Undead Citadel, Assetto Corsa EVO, Subside, Beef Raider XR, Max Mustard, Vestiges, Gundam, and DIG VR.
Elsewhere, Meta has confirmed that it is introducing a VR Animation Player as well as Theater Elsewhere. A registration meeting was held at Horizon Worlds, and Meta’s CTO apologized to Palmer Luckey after the April controversy. New Meta avatars are now available as well. YouTube is also pushing the ‘Juno’ Apple Vision Pro app from the visionOS App Store.

New Asgard’s Wrath 2 Cosmic Event Includes Saving the Harvest
After last month’s Monkeying Around event, Asgard’s Wrath 2 launched a new Cosmic Event called “Harvest Harvest.” The Nile River did not flood due to Sobek’s meddling, so you are tasked with cleaning it up from corruption to ensure the harvest continues. This month’s prizes are inspired by Greek mythology, offering items such as the sword of Perseus, the shield of Zeus, and the olive cluster of Heracles.
Heroes Battle: Darkness is a new and exciting Tabletop Strategy Game
It’s not often that we see spin-offs of VR games also in VR, but Battle of Heroes: Darkness does. Featuring characters from Darksword: Battle Eternity, this free-to-play 1v1 game offers real-time strategy action. It launches this November with Quest.
Ironstrike Gets PC VR Release Next Week
Released before Quest last November, the VR thriller Ironstrike is headed to Steam. Developed by E McNeill (Ironlights), Ironstrike attempts to provide a similar sense of power to classic role-playing experiences. Played alone or in co-op with up to four players, you’ll battle over 50 types of enemies across different environments with a powerful physics system.
All in the Army! Will Get Quest & Steam Next Fest Demo Soon
All About Board!, the upcoming VR game that lets you play board games with your friends, is getting Quest and Steam support for the game. Live between October 14-21, the demo consists of three licensed titles with a time limit of 25 minutes: Escape the Dark Castle, Istanbul, and Rallyman GT. You can play two classic games, Parcheesi and Checkers, without time restrictions.
Innerspace 10th Anniversary Bundle Now Live On Steam & Quest
To celebrate the studio’s 10th anniversary, InnerspaceVR has released a new bundle to celebrate its classic games following the recent launch of One True Path. That includes A Fisherman’s Tale, Maskmaker, and A Fisherman’s Tale 2 (formerly Another Fisherman’s Tale). Available on Quest and Steam until October 7th at a 60% discount.
